Craft time

A few happy days spent with my Girl Guides from Barrie. I missed those girls and it was the perfect way to say goodbye. I’m hoping with my new unit in the fall I can start some kind of pen pal connection.

Lots of knitting happening, including items for a new Etsy store. We took a trip to the Allen Gardens for inspiration. Have you been there? It’s beautiful!

Well hello

So much has happened! I finished the class work for my program and started as an intern at TIFF. Not many people know about the Film Refernce Library at the Bell Lightbox, but it does exist. It’s been an interesting mix of data entry and parties, starring at computer screens and free movies. I’ve seen 4 so far, and they were all great.

I will try harder to be present here more often. Now that I’m back in Toronto and can actually do things there will be more to talk and post about. Can’t wait for summer!

Back to it

One of the best things about this program is all the field trips we take. This morning, after a breakfast of champions, we headed to the Dufferin County Museum and Archives. Our teacher Wayne Townsend has just retired from working there and gave us a tour of the property and the collection. They have great storage, even if it is a little overstuffed. There was this beautiful giant dollhouse many of us wanted to take down and play with.

After an amazing lunch and an activity with the high school students who are at the museum this term, we were invited to Elise’s house to play with her kennel puppies. I finally got to experience puppy stress-busting! They were so cute I could have stayed there all day!

My friend Alison had her first baby last year and I made her a 6 colour baby blanket. Since little Simone will be 1 year old in a few months, I figured I could make her a sweater with the colours from her blanket. I like the way the stripes are turning out.

Happy Blog Birthday

Hello world! I had this idea to start blogging for real when I realized that I didn’t have a place to talk about all of my favorite things. I’ve had blogs before but this is the end of a transition period for me and it’s time to start new.

This will be a place for knitting and making, for being thankful and for sharing beautiful things. I hope you enjoy it!
